Putting the “BUSI” in Busi-ness.

If building a business were easy, everyone would do it, right?

There are so many pieces that go into it, not the least of which is getting the word out.

We do this by creating ALLLL the content for ALLLLLL the places– Instagram’s feed, Instagram stories, Instagram reels, going live on Clubhouse, Facebook, Youtube, LinkedIn, your newsletter, recording/editing/posting your podcast.

It's a lot.

There’s a significant payoff too– the dopamine hit of views, likes, comments, and follows.

OOH.  IT FEELS SO GOOD.

And it keeps us busy!

We feel like we are building a business!

But if all the effort of keeping up with the content machine in all the places isn’t actually pointing to a clear, well-messaged offer (NOT JUST ONE BURIED IN YOUR LINKTREE), then you need to ask yourself this question:

AM I BUSY MAKING MONEY IN MY BUSINESS?  OR AM I JUST BUSY?

Hard truth:  If you’re not selling things on a regular basis, you don’t have a business.  You have a very expensive hobby (in both time and money.)

And unfortunately, we know WAY too many people who fall in the “just busy” category.

Let's quit that, mmmkay?

Here are some questions to help you clarify and start gaining traction.

  • What is your offer? (Can you talk about it in a sentence or less?)

  • Are you talking about it in all the places? (More than you think is necessary?  People need a minimum average of 7 exposures to start paying attention).

  • Have you made it easy for people to buy from you? (What barriers/hurdles can you remove from your customer journey, to get people to check out faster/more conveniently?)

  • Are you making calls to action that lead people to buy? ("Enroll now. Click here.")

  • Are you making too many different calls to action (Subscribe, Follow, Download, Register, etc? How can you simplify to just one in any given campaign?)

  • Does every marketing effort all lead to the same call to action--ideally, (eventually) leading to your offer?

If you don’t know the answer to these questions, find a business buddy and ask them for feedback based on a review of where you're showing up online.  What can be improved?  Where is an area of strength you can lean into even harder?

And then swap– you provide the same for them (you kind & generous human, you!)

If you currently do not have a clear offer– (OR TOO MANY!) we encourage you to download our Impact and Income Blueprint to get clear on what you know and how you can serve.

You’ve got this!
